With an illustrious history behind it, Rome is a city that attracts many tourists every day: in addition to being the capital of the Italian Republic, it is also the center from which the Western culture has spread almost 500 years. It is the city with the highest concentration of historical and architectural heritage in the world and its historic center bordered by the perimeter of the Aurelian walls is an expression of the historical, artistic and cultural heritage of the Western European world and, in 1980, together with the extraterritorial properties of the Saint Headquartered in the city and the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls, it was included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. <\/span><\/h4>\n

Rome was not built in a day: the city had a millennial urban development, this characteristic makes it unique in the world and very precious for students of ancient history but also baroque, thanks to the intense stratification it has undergone over the centuries. <\/span><\/h4>\n

Rome has several appellations: L’Urbe, Caput Mundi (capital of the world), Eternal City, and Limen Apostolorum (apostolic throne). <\/span><\/h4>\n

It has two own festivities, April 21 (Foundation City’ Anniversary), and June 29 (the patron saints, Peter and Paul). <\/span><\/h4>\n

It boasts the distinction of homonymy: other 44 cities around the world bear this name.<\/span><\/h4>\n
